PLEATED SKIRT

"Lite" Pattern

This adorable skirt merges the gap between preppy and trendy. It features three inverted box pleats, a flat-fronted waistband with elasticized back, and a sweet removable bow for easy washing. Because this pattern is sewn using your own body measurements, it can be made for children, teens, and women. Cover model is a size 10 (girls), for reference.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: quilting cottons, shirting, lightweight denim, satin, silk, twill, and chambray. Use Patty Young's fabric collections for a modern and eclectic look.

MATERIALS LIST:
Since this skirt is made to size, the fabric quantities will vary greatly depending on your body measuements and how long you want the skirt. Plan on using about 3/4 yard for sizes 12M - 5T, 1 yard for sizes 6-10 and 1.5 or more yards for larger sizes. Shorter skirts may use less fabric. For the bow, you'll need 4" (linear) or 1/8 yard of fabric for all sizes.
