Double-layer skirt with drawstring

Designed with the beginner sewist in mind, Juliana is a sweet skirt that is as easy to sew as it is to wear. There are no zippers, buttons or snaps to apply; just a couple of casings to sew. The double-layer super full skirt can be made with or without the drawstring detail. A template and detailed instructions for creating a fabric broach or hair flower are included within this pattern, for those who wish to add extra embellishment to a pre-purchased top.

SUGGESTED FABRICS: quilting weight cottons, shirtings, voiles, gauzes, lightweight linens, denims, corduroys and muslins, 44”/45” wide.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SKIRT (all sizes):
1 2/3 yards of fabric #1 for overskirt and waistband
1 1/8 yards of fabric #2 for underskirt & drawstring casing
1” (x width of fabric) for drawstring or use 1/4”w ribbon.

NOTIONS:
• 1” knit elastic for skirt’s waistband cut to your waist size
• Coordinating thread
